Who knew you could cut a glass bottle this way. I am going to try it and I will let you know for sure.

Love this paper feather wreath from here.

My Office Makeover... and the prettiest shade of blue

About 6 months ago, and somewhere in between a slew of other projects that I really needed to get done around the house, I bought a beautiful blue rug on-line during a semi annual sale....even though nothing in the house was this shade of blue. In fact, I actually bought 2 blue rugs to try in this space, loved this one for here and ended up using the other in another room, which I am currently working on.

Two months later it was time to color match  from the rug, and paint my credenza which I showed you here. The blue that I chose is a mix between a navy and royal blue and appropriately called Dignity Blue by SW. It is such a beautiful color.

Monday Musings

Still waiting on the ottoman and accent chair for my family room after 10 long weeks. You would have thought I ordered something totally outrageous to construct and make....nope just a chair and and ottoman. The print is the smaller of the pillows on the couch. Got a couple extra yards of the fabric and made my own pillows. Fingers crossed, it should be here this week. The family is enjoying the new couch though ....but not so thrilled with the 'no food or drink on couch' rule. I am sure my husband is thinking "how long will this rule last".

If you are looking for an amazing photo printer (for just prints) I would highly recommend the Canon Selphy. It's small, has WiFi and is portable. I find the color quality on the Selphy printer, far exceeds most other printers that I have had. I love to send my thank you notes on postcards with a cute picture on the front.

Weekend Wows

Well after a week of rain and clouds here in Georgia, we finally got a bit of sunshine yesterday. I went from slow mo, unmotivated all week to energized, happy, can't stop....the sun is out mode. Does it affect you like that too?
This weekend promises spring like weather, so I hope to get outside and do something fun like....... paint the pasture fence. I know,  I know, I need to dial back the excitement factor.

Seriously cute... I want one, or two. Details here

Not a rug that I will be ordering anytime soon. Who else thinks this is just a tad bit strange.

Wallpapered Bookcase

When  I made a decision to not wallpaper the entire wall in my home office and only go to the existing chair rail, it created a bit of extra wallpaper so I decided to turn my boring not so exciting bookcase on the other side of the room, into something with a bit of flair and interest ....well at least my office thinks so.

And although, certainly not an expert, I have put together my own simple steps for a successful wallpaper project.

Winters in The House...Home Decor Ideas

I don't know about you, but I always find that I need to fill the seasonal decor transition between Christmas and Spring with something....anything.  It would actually depress me to take the Christmas stuff down and have nothing around to look at. As if these cold temperatures aren't depressing enough.

So throughout the house I have decorated with stuff that I have had for years, stuff I made, stuff from my closet, and stuff that I took out of the Christmas bin. All lovely reminders of winter, without spending a dime.
This pine cone wreath that I made ~15 years ago hangs in the kitchen window.
