Holiday Front Porch

I wish I could tell you that I could compete with my husbands "Tunnel of Love" light show that he put together this year along our driveway, you can see more here ......but I can't. Not even close.

So I will just take a seat, from my 'less lighted spectacular', and not so bright front porch to enjoy the season and the view.....with or without the lights turned on.

I kept it low key ( for obvious reasons) this year and sprinkled pops of red and green.....along with evergreens, to create a festive and simple holiday porch.

My wreaths that I really like and used on my front doors last year here, are happy to be making another appearance this year. I placed some coordinating ornaments in a basket and around the Norfolk pines that are by the front door to tie it all in.

Some Apple red spray paint helped to provide the dose of red that you see on the planters, the monogram initial and the lanterns. I love the combination of the red with the green from the pines. I am a big fan of Christmas classic colors.

To disguise ( well almost)  the string of lights along the front of the house, I wrapped the columns with some garland and tied in some red and green ornaments along with some pine cones, to add some interest.   I buy inexpensive garland and double up the strands to create a more fuller look.

So on the days and nights when it is not so cold and frigid out here in the country, this is where I will be.....right here in this chair. Watching my husbands "tunnel of love" lights and just enjoying the holiday season.....one light show at a time.

Do you keep it low key or 'turn up the lights' with your outdoor holiday decorating?

Grateful for~
Quiet moments on the front porch when the holiday season gets a bit chaotic.

  4. Your porch is beautiful! Very festive. Our outdoor decorating this year is pretty weak. It's been a weird year so we're planning on stepping things up next year.
